The Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park feels miles away from the bustle of city life and yet is less than an hour from Glasgow and not much more from Edinburgh. There are four distinctly different and special areas - Loch Lomond, with the domineering Ben Lomond - the wild glens and sparkling Lochs of the Trossachs, Breadalbane (gaelic for highland Scotland) and finally the Loch bordered Argyll Forest.

The chairlift at the Glencoe Ski Centre whisks you up to 2,400 feet where you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views across the area. Further down the glen, in a spectacular setting on the banks of the River Coe, the National Trust for Scotland’s Glencoe Visitor Centre provides a fascinating introduction to the area and also tells the story of the infamous massacre.

The city of Inverness is generally regarded as the capital of the Highlands and the landscapes around here are rugged and beautiful. Naturally, this is a place made for walkers and climbers. There are many lochs to satisfy anglers and room to really ‘get away from it all’ for those who love solitude. On the coast you stand a good chance of a close encounter with seals, dolphins and a huge variety of seabirds.

Step back in time and explore the numerous castles and museums - take a boat trip or follow a whisky trail. Enter into the spirit of the mystery of Loch Ness or simply enjoy the stunning scenery, the possibilities are endless.
